      The town of Berkley was first settled in 1638 as a part of Taunton and Dighton and was officially incorporated as a separate town in 1735. It has a total land area of 16.4 square miles with an estimated population of 6,411. Berkley is located along Routes 24 and 79 and also offers access to Route 140. Living in Berkley offers country living in a small town with easy access to needed services and other larger metropolitan cities.
