      Bridgewater, MA

      The town of Bridgewater was chartered in 1656 and has a total land area of 28.2 square miles. The population is approximately 26,563. Bridgewater is home to Bridgewater State University which was founded in 1840. The town is located along Routes 24 and 495 and also offers access to Routes 18, 28, and 104. Bridgewater has an MBTA Commuter rail station with service to Boston. The station is located on the campus of Bridgewater State University. Bridgewater offers city living in a town setting with excellent access to public services and education.
